This year was the second year in which CfAT’s Derby office managed the Municipal Services Program for over 45 Indigenous communities mostly in the West Kimberley region of North Western Australia. Though the National Job Creation Package CfAT has employed 24 community based Municipal Services Officers (MSOs). With support from FAHCSIA we rented a depot in Fitzroy Crossing which enabled us to provide training and employment for MSOs from communities in that region. An audit of the program was undertaken and a range of improvements to better support the MSOs are underway. These include changes to the management structure to better support a devolved and widely dispersed workforce and benchmarking against other service models.
