CAT's Integrated Technical Services group (ITS) works closely with communities, resource agencies, service providers and other key stakeholders to provide an integrated and coordinated approach to infrastructure in remote communities. ITS provides assistance in a number of ways:

  •          Consultation with community members and relevant stakeholders
  •          Intensive mapping and assessment of technical infrastructure
  •          Production of community profiles and reports
  •           Analysis of issues and preparation of detailed design options
  •           Repairs and minor upgrades
  •           Project management of major works
  •          Facilitation of strategic and operational planning

 ITS works across a range of technical domains, including:

  •          Water - bores, storage, reticulation and water quality
  •           Energy - generators, renewable energy systems, support to Bushlight systems
  •           Housing - structural issues, electrical work, plumbing, septic tanks, hot water systems, rainwater tanks, external strcutures
  •           Waste - collection systems, dumps, hazardous waste disposal
  •           Community infrastructure - community centres, playgrounds, stores
  •           Access - airstrips, internal roads, access roads
  •           Fire protection - firebreaks, static and mobile firefighting equipment
  •           Telecommunications - community phones, internet access and capability
